Outlook and Word

There is something that I have noticed. I only have
Outlook 2003 open but when I open Windows Task Manager -
WinWord is at the top. What the heck is that all about?
Word is not even open. Now I know about the multi Words
being open but I only see one and I have not even opened
Word today. So why is this showing up when Outlook is
opened?
