Outlook Archive

Are mailboxes in exchange compresses in any way ? I am looking to archive a
users mailbox of 650,000 KB and want to know before starting the archive
process through Outlook. I understand the limit on the .pst file is 2 gigs.
I don't want to start archiving and have the pst file grow in a
disproportional relation to the size of the mailbox; losing all my data when
hitting the pst file hits 2 gigs.

yes. perform the export since 650mb will not expand out beyond the 2gb
limit. (pst files do a base compression as well, but it doesn't rival what
exchange does.)
