Outlook attachment error

We are running Outlook 2000 SP3 on Windows 2000 SP3. One
client has suddenly started returning the following error
when the user attempts to attach a file (a Word document
for instance) :

Cannot add the attachment; no data source was provided

Has anyone else experienced this problem?
