Outlook calendar standalone

Christoph

The only thing I use Outlook for is the calendar. I typically don't like
to keep it (outlook) open because it is such a resource hog. As a
result, I have to manually go in and check the calendar every now and
again as I don't get reminders w/o outlook being open.
So I'm curious, is there a standalone client that can access the Outlook
calendar data and send reminders for events? Something that isn't so
heavy on the resources?

thnx,
Christoph

There is the Works calendar (if you have Works) and a number of
freeware/shareware calendars available, but none that I know of that access
the pst without opening outlook at least part way.

FWIW, if you keep outlook minimized to the taskbar or with ol2002/2003, to
the tray, it uses very little resources. But you would probably be better
served by a different program that only did calendars.

I've OfficeXP (presumably Outlook is OutlookXP?). I don't see where you can
configure it to minimize to the system try. Where is that setting?
