Outlook conflicts with OE

Just had to reinstall Office 2003 beta. Now I cannot open Outlook Express;
when I click the OE icon, Outlook opens. When I reinstalled Office, I did
not, did not choose the option to upgrade OE, thereby importing addresses,
email accounts, etc., and none of that happened. Any thoughts?

What version of OE are you running? Make sure it is version 6.0 SP1 with the
latest updates as well. Updating OE doesn't mean importing in to Outlook.

I am using OE 6.0 SP1, WinXP SP1 and all updates have been downloaded. Have
no other problems with any other programs, and system is running otherwise
flawlessly. Could not find anything on slipstick.com or tomsterdam.com.
With respect to "updating" thing, I am just repeating the wording of the
option which appeared when configuring Outlook. Apologize for not including
the system info beforehand.

No need to apologize. Have you already tried to reinstall IE6SP1? Microsoft
Office Outlook 2003 BETA is also working? Have you also applied the
Technical Refresh of Office 2003? About the updating; when it asks to update
OE does it specify anything more than just that?

Thanks for the reply. To make a long story short, I fixed it. Seems the
desktop icon for OE was corrupt, so I deleted it and created a new one.
Everything is working fine now. Thanks again for the interest and reply.
