outlook crashing several things tried

J

Jeremy

I can open outlook (2007) and use the email tab. When I click over to the
calendar, it crashes.

I run the /cleanview, and I can get in to the calendar, but when I switch
over to the week view, it crashes again.

The only thing I can think of is that I have the week view set to look at
weekdays only and I have weekend appts. this should not crash the program,
right?

I am on exchange.

please help

First; Don't abuse the suggestion feature for general issues. This is not
the way to contact Microsoft about any of your issues. For that, contact
your local Microsoft Support office. Abuse of the feature will only make it
go away in the future.

Anyway;
-What is logged to the Event Viewer regarding this?
-When did it last work?
-What got changed since then?
-Does it work in Outlook Safe Mode?
Start-> Run; outlook.exe /safe

Since you are on Exchange, chances are you are in a corporate environment.-
-What did your mail admin say about this?
-Can you access your mailbox properly on another machine?
-Do others experience the same issue?

Haha, thanks for that!

@Jeremy
But yeah, just ignore it in general. I'm only repeating it to make people
aware of it and realize that this is not how they reach Microsoft about
their current issues. But since you are aware of it already, you can
definitely ignore it. :)

No, once is enough. You'll probably get a whiner or two who will berate
you for it, just ignore them. :)

safe mode - Same Problem, when I open it, everything is ok. calendar access
is ok. when I switch to "week" view, frozen.

as far as the event vuewer is concerned, I can open it but I don't know what
to give you. what do you need?

Are there any errors in the event viewer for Outlook?

You either have a corrupt view or a corrupt item that corrupts the view when
you go to the week view. I'm assuming it also happens if you go to day view
too?

no, it defaults to day view, that works fine in safe mode and in cleanviews.

errors below:

The store C:\Documents and Settings\jreynolds\Desktop\Outlook.pst has
detected a catalog checkpoint.

The store C:\Documents and Settings\jreynolds\Local Settings\Application
Data\Microsoft\Outlook\outlook.ost has detected a catalog checkpoint.
