Outlook deleting old messages after first import from pop server.

After setting up an Outlook profile for the first time and doing th
first send / receive Outlook seems to have removed items that were i
the inbox but over a month old. I checked to see if maybe the aut
archive ran without my knowledge and it had not. Or at least had no
created an archive.pst file. The old emails that were on the serve
have been removed. Did Outlook just delete these emails? Or is i
storing them somewhere? Thanks for any and all help, it is greatl
appreciated.
