I have a laptop running XP Pro and Office XP. Outlook is
configured for Exchange support and I have setup one
Exchange account and two POP3 accounts (one of which is to
access the Exchange account when out of the office). On
the office LAN (with in -house Exchange server), Outlook
recognizes the connection state immediately and opens in
online mode. If the laptop is not connected to the
network, Outlook opens immediately to the offline mode.
When taking the laptop home and connecting to my home
network, Outlook does not recognize the connection state
and presents the "retry/work offline/cancel" dialog.
Selecting "retry" or "work offline" opens Otlook
immediately in an offline state. My home network is
connected to a DSL Internet connection. This is a recent
development and was not a problem until just a few months
ago. I have applied all applicable updates to Outlook and
have gone as far as re-installing Office after running
the "Repair" optin failed. I have verified that
the "detect connection state" is checked in the Exchange
account. Any thought as to why this is happening and how
I might correct it?
