Outlook e-mail attachments

I find that many recipients of e-mail from Outlook cannot
open the attachments, or the attachments are missing
altogether. They invariably receive and can open the
attachments when sent directly from the ISP mail service,
bypassing Outlook. Does anybody have a solution or
explanation for this, or am I the only one with this
problem?
