Outlook Export-Import

D

Dave

Here is a strange one. I was upgrading a client PC for use
with SBS2K. I backed up the users inbox, sent items, and
contacts folders by exporting to a *.pst file to import
back in if necessary. I did have import back in because
adding the SBS client files screwed something up in
outlook. When I opened the inbox,

I noticed the user lost over a years worth of e-mails. Not
all of them, but everything from the past calendar yr.,
from 8/17/03 to 8/24/02. The sent items and contacts were
just fine. Anyway, I performed an import of the backed up
inbox folder, and that didn't fix it. It apparently
skipped every e-mail between the dates mentioned above.

I have tried everything I know to bring those e-mails back
to no avail. I even tried to import eerything into OE,
same thing.

The user is very angry, thinking it was something I did. I
told her however that it was not the best thing to do to
have so many e-mails in the inbox (over 400), she never
archived anything. I don't think I did anything wrong
because the procedure I used has worked everythime till
now.

What the he*l happened, and how can I fix it?

Thanks in adv.

Dave
