Outlook Express deletes my incoming attachments

When friends send me a pdf file with pictures in it, I open the email and it says "OE has removed the following unsafe attachment" and names the pdf file. How do I get it to let me open the attachments?

Outlook Express is a mail and news program that comes free with Internet
Explorer. Outlook is a separate program (with, unfortunately, a similar
name) that is part of Microsoft Office. Outlook handles a variety of office
tasks in addition to mail, e.g., calendar.

I have MS Office and the desktop icon says Outlook Express. The program also says Outlook Express 6. Do you think I am in or out of the right place to ask questions

Outlook Express has nothing to do with MS Office. It does not matter what
you have. This is a group for Outlook questions. You will get a better
response to Outlook Express questions by asking in an Outlook Express group.
To find such groups, search on group names that contain "outlookexpress".
