Outlook Express error message

L

Lauree

I'm using Outlook Express 5.0.2 on a MAC running system 9.2.1 and
suddenly I get the message "The OE Rules file appears corrupt. Rules
cannot be used." I'm fairly certain I have no rules set up other than
the defaults. And I can't boot Outlook Express to correct the problem.
I've even tried removing all the Outlook files and preferences that I
can locate and have installed a newer version of the software but I
still get the same message. Any idea how to fix the problem??? I'm not
even overly attached to Outlook...but I do need to get it open so I can
export my address book. Any help would be appreciated.

This newsgroup is for support of Outlook 97, 98, 2000, 2002 & 2003 from the
Office family for Intel PCs. For Outlook Express (OE) support try posting in
one of these newsgroups:
microsoft.public.internet.mail.mac
microsoft.public.internet.outlookexpress.mac

If those groups aren't carried on the news server that's carrying this group
try using msnews.microsoft.com (MS's public news server that's the source
for all the microsoft.public newsgroups). The links under the newsgroup
references are for use with MS's web newsreader (not exactly the best way to
post but it works for some people)
