Arg, this is driving me insane.

Well, my mom for some strange reason likes Outlook Express over Outlook 2003
so she wants Outlook Express and not Outlook 2003. My dad, bro and I all use
Outlook 2003 for our email now but we have ran into a major problem. When you
set my mom's account that her default email client is Outlook Express, it
changes everyone's accounts to be Outlook Express as the default. And when I
change my default email client to Outlook 2003 it changes everyones account
to Outlook 2003 as the default, including hers.

How do I fix this? My mom will not switch to Outlook 2003 due to she says
she likes Outlook Express more so don't try to tell me to tell her to switch.
She finds it too complicated.

I would suggest that you set Outlook 2003 as the default mail client since
the majority of users are using it. Your mother can simply open Outlook
Express and when it tells her it is not the default mail client and ask if
she would like to make it the default mail client she can simply say NO. If
you go to Internet Explorer and choose the TOOLS menu and then the PROGRAMS
tab you will see that you can only choose one email program as the default.
Your mother is the odd-person out so it only makes sense to make OL2003 the
default client? That's the way I see it.

Hello,
Well I really like Outlook, I find it pretty much exactly like Outlook
Express with more options. She made the switch from Netscape Communicator to
Outlook Express back a long time ago, I don't know why she won't go from
Outlook Express to Outlook. Is there any things I can "make up" to get her to
switch (such as the ISP made Outlook Express not work with their new service
:p). Ya, I'm really desperate, Outlook's the best but she won't switch.

So, follow My. Evans' advice. Set Outlook as the default mail client and
the first time she starts Outlook Express, when it asks if she wants to make
it the default mail client, check the "Don't ask me this again" box and
click No. She'll be able to us Outlook Express to her heart's content while
you all continue to use Outlook.
