outlook express

I am using Outlook Express/IMAP. I chose not to use the
preview pane but instead to double click on the message I
want to read. After I close the window, I would assume the
message has been marked as read (because it is no longer in
bold) except that if I push 'Send/Receive All' then the
message shows up again as new. What can I do to make OE
understand that when I've read a message, it should be
marked as 'read'???
