Outlook Freezes on email attachments

Hi All: Using Oulook xp, win pro xp,
When recieving emails with attachements as soon as i click on email to
preview oulook locks (not responding and requires an outlook shut down) all
works ok less attachments emails. I have turned off virus protection.
