I am using Outlook 2000 as my newsreader. When I Unsubscribe to a newsgroup,
does it also delete any downloaded headers and message bodies from that
particular ng?

No, you are using Outlook EXPRESS as a newsreader. Outlook doesn't "do" news
on its own.
I don't think it does until you "Compact All" on the file-folder menu.
AFAIK.

My experience says "no". After unsubscribing to a newsgroup, the
newsgroupname.dbx file still resides in Outlook Express' message store,
although folder.dbx will not contain a pointer to it.
