Outlook not responding

Recently I have been unable to open emails from outlook,
and the application must be closed from the task manger
where it is shown to be "Not responding". I moved the
outlook.pst file and created a new one and outlook has
become functional again. It however imperative that I
gain access to the original .pst file as it contains all
my previous correspondance and construction drawings
received for the last 2 years. The file is 820MB!!

Any help on this subject will be greatfully appreciated.

On the original Outlook/Office cd there is a tool called
SCANPST.exe This should solve all the problems related
to your old .pst file

Thanks for your reply, however I have scanned the file and
no errors were found. Tried to open the file again but no
luck
