outlook not retaining password

To send/receive email, I have to enter my password every
time, even though I have the "remember password" box
checked.

Any hints out there? Thanks.

I too am having this same problem where outlook is not
retaining passwords although I have the remember password
box checked. I'm using a new computer with Win XP, have
used same OS in another computer with out this problem
with outlook.

A similar problem here. I recently upgraded to Outlook
2002. I had Outlook 2000 configured to check my mail every
15 minutes and it worked like a charm. 2002 worked fine
for a few days but now something seems to have "reset" and
I get these annoying windows telling me to confirm my
password. The password is there already and I just hit
return and the mail is collected. I spent a day thinking
there must be something up with the provider (Comcast) but
I can receive mail without any problems on my Mac. I've
checked and rechecked all my security settings. I was
hoping to fine something here.
