Outlook not sending messages

Hello there I am having an issue with Outlook XP and what happens is
when I create a new message and send it, it will go to the Outbox and
wait there. It will send as soon as I click on the Outbox itself or
another folder within outlook today. Any ideas why it doesnt just go to
the recipient right away? Thanks for any help provided.

Are you using exchange server? your firewall is causing problems with NAT.
