Hello there,
Does anyone know how many lines or characters are allowed as a max in
Outlook Notes?
Can't seem to find out anywhere.
tks,
Richard.

The yellow notes or note fields in contacts and calendars? Version of
Outlook?

In at least Outlook 2003 using a Unicode store, it's a lot. I've had up to
30,000 characters in a note. It's kind of useless though, except to store
text, as it's hard to scroll the text. The notes field in other items should
have the same limits - I've pasted from Notes to note fields and never had a
problem.

How you create the note is important - drag and drop between ansi (old pst
format used by ol2002 and earlier) and Unicode stores (Ol2003 only) may have
a limit - the latest updates may help.

Tks Diane,
I've synched the notes from my yahoo account using their itellisynch for
yahoo software. Each note definitely has less than 1000 characters. Maybe
only 1/3 of the text has been transferred in some notes - seems to be
variable, or maybe there's a line limit? It IS hard to scroll the text,
you're right. I'd like to use the notes feature as a way to store valuable
information online. I'm using Outlook 2003.
Cheers,
Richard.

There may be a limit in intellisync. do you have word? copy and paste the
content into a word doc and do a character count (use the include spaces
option when you count) - see if they all in the same character range.

Bingo!
The cut off seems to be betwen 6567 and 6733 characters (incl spaces)
Although why its not exactly the same for all notes baffles me a bit.

Cheers Diane,
Richard.

I'd guess carriage returns and other non-printing characters make up the
difference. I don't think they are counted by word.
