When I open Outlook I get a message:
'C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Application
Data\Microsoft\Addins\C:\PROGRA~1\MICROS~2\OFFICE11\Addins\outbak.dll' is not
a valid Office Add-in.

With Outlook closed, try deleting the file
%AppData%\Microsoft\Outlook\extend.dat. then restarting Outlook. If that
doesn't work, remove the "Outlook Backup Addin". Just how is
version-dependent and you decided to keep that information secret.

Brian, I can't find either of those files. I am a novice at this.

With Outlook closed, open WIndows Explorer. IN the Address field, enter
%AppData%\Microsoft\Outlook . Click Go. extend.dat should be there.
Selecet it and delete it.

I can't tell you how to locate the backup add-in because you've yet to tell
my what Outlook version you have, even though I asked for that informaiton.

If you're using Outlook 2003, click Tools>Options>Other>Advanced Options>COM
Add Ins
