An Executive in my company that is not very computer savvy has a very large
mailbox, with folders galore. He had a specific folder that he had, with
identifiable e-mails that he could search for. He was embarrassed when he
couldn’t find the folder. I helped him search for the e-mails instead, and
there they were. Oh wait, we see they are in the appropriate folder, but it
doesn’t tell us where the folder is still. Of course it had been dragged and
dropped to another folder in the tree structure, but there was no way to tell
where the folder was. Searching only helped us determine that the folder
still existed. We still had to manually search for the folder be eye.
Why not have “details†to the folder location where it says “in folder†for
help in locating missing folders. Outlook to my knowledge doesn’t have a
folder search like windows explorer does. Maybe with Vista not only will we
be able to search folders on hard drives, but maybe in Outlook as well.
