Outlook Stops Responding

Outlook stops responding every time one of our users tries
to access a Word doc via a link in an e-mail. She can
browse to the Word doc and open it without any problem.
The same link works for others. Any ideas?

She has Outlook 2000 SP3.The e-mails contain a link (i.e.
\\machine_name\path\filename.doc) and the format is
usually rich text.
