Outlook stops sending/receiving

Outlook, after about a week, will stop me from sending or
receiving mail. When I go to 'test account settings', it
says I failed "Log onto incoming mail server (POP3)"
and "send test email message". It finds the incoming
(POP3) and outgoing (SMTP) servers fine, but it won't
actually use them. The only solution I can find is to
delete my account and then start over again. Any
solutions?

I'm using Outlook 2002.
