Outlook Tasks

I know that the fix is supposedly uninstalling a few security patches, which
seem to work for some and not for others. I'm not the admin so I can not and
will not open up our corporation to security issues to run some beta software
properly. Fix the probelm.

Before installing Office 2003 and Office Project 2003 I was able to open new
tasks and accept them. After our IT guy installed Office 2003 and installed
the updates which were required to install Project 2003 I am unable to open
new Tasks. There is no error message when I try to open them, but I do get
an error message when I try to drag them or move them to the Task folder.
The error reads "Can't copy the items. The property does not exist. The
field you want to modify is not valid for this type of item." I can however
right click and print the task to see what it is.

Office Project 2003 was suppose to be able to import the tasks which it will
not do correctly. Given that the tasks it is trying to import are from a
previous "Outlook" version might be the problem, but it shouldn't make a
difference. This is becoming very annoying. The whole reason we purchased
Project was for our company to be able to send me tasks that I could then
process in Project. Outlook and Project should work together. It doesn't
appear that Project works with Outlook in any fashion other than importing
tasks. So I will still have to update the Outlook tasks independantly from
Project. It would have been very nice and make much more scense to assign
the due dates and other info within "Outlook", then "Outlook" sends out the
"accepted" notification to the respected requestors along with all the task
info I put in, and then import it into Project. This should should have been
done right from the start. It would seem too obvious that you would want
Office Project to update all the tasks in the Outlook Task folder when they
are updated within Office Project. Or will we have to buy liscenses for all
the employees who already are using Outlook and have been sending me tasks
for years to have that work in Project. I guess from a businees standpoint
this would make sense, but from my standpoint it is very poor use of a piece
of software that should work with other MS software without having to
purchase additional liscenses to use software already installed and paid for.
