outlook vs. outlook express

Is Outlook or Outlook Express the best to use for email
program? Pros and Cons please.

Depends on what you want to do, Bill. If you just want an email client and
newsgroup reader, Outlook Express is fine, and is part of Internet Explorer,
so you already have it. If you want data management with all kinds of bells
and whistles that the average home user will never use, Outlook is your
program. I use them both because Outlook came with the Office suite. I use
Outlook Express for my personal email (family and close friends, people I
know), and of course for reading newsgroups. I use Outlook for my "other
email accounts". Be advised that Outlook has no native newsgroup reader
(when you call up newsgroups in Outlook, it will open the Outlook express
newsgroup reader). Outlook is more oriented to business users with a lot of
data and contacts to manage.

I also found Outlook to be more secure than Outlook Express. (Note: I
compared Outlook 2003 to the OE version in IE SP 1. OE in WinXP SP2 is more
secure but I still prefer Outlook 2003.) You might also want to consider
Mozilla Thunderbird.

users, and should be your preference - especially since Outlook comes free
with SBs for your suers!

I will use Outlook for my day to day business work, and then use Oe for
either newsgroup access or for checking other personal Intenret email
