Outlook will not accept credintials for exchange mail.

I have a Win XP SP1 workstation, running Office XP, OL
2002. I had to run a repair on the installation of
Windows, since the repair outlook will not accept the
password for the Exchange mail. If you try to configure
an Exchange account it repeatedly prompts a PW
challenge. This PC is inside on an internal LAN
connecting to an Exchange 2000 Server. This is the only
PC out of 140 exhibting these symptoms.
I have tried removing outlooks profiles and accounts and
recreating them. I have removed and recreated the user
profile. I have un-installed Office completely and
removed all reference (or so I thought) from the
registry. All of this to no avail, All SP are up to
date. Any ideas would be greatly appriciated.
