outlook won't dislplay messages

I have many new e mails and outlook says it cannot display
them, how do i get around this

Have you restarted Outlook already and scanned your pst-file with
scanpst.exe?

Other than that; you need to post more info like version of Outlook and
service you are using (HTTP, POP3, IMAP, Exchange, etc) or anything that
might be relevant for us to help you with your problem.
