Outlook Won't Run

Using XP, Outlook will not open. An error message stating
that "expand.dat" cannot be initialized comes up. I
removed Office and reinstalled it thinking that would fix
the problem - it didn't. "Expand.dat" is present in the
Outlook directory. I don't have any idea what to try
next. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Could
adware affect Outlook like this???

Rename extend.dat (note your typo) to extend.old

Thanks Robert. And do I leave it as the renamed file?
Also, any idea what happened to the file (i.e. corrupted,
etc)? Thanks again.

Corrupted indeed; once Outlook is working again you can safely delete it.
