Outlook won't start up

I have been having a problem with Outlook 2000 not loading
after I have some problem and have to manually reboot, or
if my kid comes in and presses the power button, making
the computer restart. Once the computer reboots, I click
on the Outlook shortcut to open in, and the Outlook logo
window comes up, as if it will start, but it doesn't.
Then I found if I left the computer sit, it came up after
20 minutes or so, but then it turned into an hour, now
more! I had Spam Inspector loaded to filter spam, but
uninstalled it to see if it was the culprit, but still
Outlook won't load right. If by some miracle it gets to
my inbox, it seems to bring in mail, but when I go to open
a mail message, the arrow turns into an hourglass, and
then NOTHING. BTW, I have Windows 98 as my system.
Anyone have any ideas??? Please??? Thanks!
