Outlook, word and XP screensaver

Hello
I have found a strange problem involving Outlook and word 2003 and the WinXP
(home ed, OEM) screensaver. This is the problem: while I have Outlook open
(with 2 POP3 account configured) and after the screeensaver has started, when
I open ANY word document after a while (3/4 seconds) Word application closes
without any problem (event viewer did not record anything). The OS comes from
a fresh install, it's virus free, no additional sw is installed, and all the
patches are installed (office and XP sp2).
Did anyone have found this kind of behaviour?
