Outlook XP Backup problems

Bryan

Hi

I keep having problems restoring pst backup files. I
follow the correct sequence etc to import and restore the
personal folder files (backuped up on CD) but it never
works. I understand that I cant restore from the CD and i
have to copy the file onto windows but even then it doesnt
restore properly. I get an error message saying incorrect
file type or something, even though it is the right type
(after selecting that i want to import a .pst file)

ANy help on this plz, its an important thing to be able to
backup e-mails and Outlook seems to fail hands down at
being reliable in this very critical area.

Why are you using Import to open an Outlook file? Use File->Open.

When you say you are having problems, that gives us nothing to work with.
If you weren't having problems, you wouldn't be posting here. Now, if you
DETAILED the problem you are having, it would be more helpful.

Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. Due to
the SWEN virus, all mail sent to my personal account will be deleted
without reading.

After searching google.groups.com and finding no answer, Bryan asked:
