outlook xp: can not use exchange server with another user.

tried to configure a laptop for "exchange server" mail to
dial to work and open Outlook to view mail the same way as
in the office.

But, on the configuration stage it; check name part, it
ask for a user name and password. the user name and
password is not accepted by the Server. "check info or
contact the administrator" appears. have tried erasing
profile and doing it over several times but comes out the
same.
