outlook xp does not receive mail, but sending is no problem

outlook xp on my computer stopped receiving mail, the progress bar
doesn't pop up anymore. Sending works fine.

It is no problem with the ISP or mail server because I can retrieve
the mail from another computer.

I tested the settings in teh account setup and all works well, the
test email is sent, and the login to the POP served works

any ideas???????
