Outlook XP won't send attachments via send-to

R

Rob Mayer

I would like to email a file directly from Explorer.
Here's what I do and here's what happens.

1. Highlight file in Explorer
2. Right-click to reveal Send-To option
3. Click on "Mail Recipient MAPI"
4. The Outlook email client starts up, revealing an email
with the attachment attached.
5. I put a destination email address in the TO field.
6. But when I push "Send" NOTHING HAPPENS. No error msg or
anything.

7. So in order to email the item, I have to save this
email, close this (spawned session) of Outlook and open
an "official" session by clicking on an Outlook icon on
the Desktop (or wherever).

8. Then when it opens up, I see the email ready to go in
my Inbox, as addressed. I can send it from there.

So, why can't Outlook just respond and send the email in
the first, spawned session?

I have both SP's installed for Outlook , 1 and 2.

thanks,

Rob
