Greetings,
I'm running Outlook 2002 (part of Office XP Professional), and just
noticed a problem. If I hit Help->Microsoft_Outlook_Help (F1), the
office help application launches, gives me a blank window, and my
system all but hangs while the disk activity light goes on and stays
on. It takes me about 5 minutes to get a task manager up, then
another 5 minutes to try to get the help process to exit.
If I do the same thing in Word, the same help application launches and
gives me no problems. Disk problem? Or problem with the outlook help
file(s)? Is there any way to easily rebuild the help files?
I've also tried Help->Detect_and_Repair, but I end up getting a
message that the installer terminated early, then another dialog about
a thread dying.
Any ideas? I'm a Unix/Linux/BSD person, so a lot of MS things that
should be obvious to me perhaps aren't!
Thanks,
-dan
