Overlaying a graphic in Word - Word 2000

I am creating a business card for our club... we want to overlay text over
the club's logo... this has been done before in Word 2000, but the designer
is no longer available, so we are doing it ourselves... I know it can be done
because he sent me a Word document with a graphic on it and text overlaid the
graphic for me print for my personal business card... I cannot figure out he
did it... any ideas?

I tried inserting the graphic in a text box, but it wouldn't allow me to
type over the graphic...

R-click the "text-box", Select "Format Text box", then the Layout Tab,
the rest should be apparent.
