Overwriting Outlook 2002 w/2000

Help!!!
I'm having nothing but problems with my Outlook2002:

Hanging up forever
Hourglass indefinitely
Not shutting down
downloading for hours
(what am I missing?)

If I reload my 2000 version and overwrite my 2002, will
the 2002 data still be there on the 2000? What else
should I do?

Thank you!

yes, the data will remain. as insurance, make a copy of your pst. however,
it might not fix your problem.

are you running active sync, winfax or any other application that works with
outlook? it sounds like something is keeping outlook opened.
