Package for CD Problem

J

Jenny

I am using windows XP and I have managed to package a presentation to CD
before so that it just automatically runs when inserted to another computer.
I did this via the package CD cammand in powerpoint and followed
instructions. However, for some reason it is now not working. When I click
copy to CD button, it tells me that CD not writable. But the CD is writable
(have tried various new CDs), it works with the sonic burning programme I
also have, and it also works if I burn files in general using the windows
burning software. So why is it that it doesn't seem to be reading the disk or
something?

I can however, save the package to file with no problems (in package CD
window), and I can burn that onto a CD no problem, but unfortunately, if I do
it this way, the CD does not run automatically and I need it to do so, as it
is a presentation CD for potential clients.

Please help. Thanks.

If you use the copy to folder option, and then burn the files to your CD it
does work. This BTW is the preferred way to put your material onto the CD.
When you Copy the files to your CD make sure that you don't copy the folder
from your HD, just the files that are in it. You should have a list that
looks something like this.

YourSoundFile.mp3
AUTORUN.INF
gdiplus.dll
intldate.dll
play.bat
playlist.txt
pptview.exe
ppvwintl.dll
pvreadme.htm
YourPresentation.ppt
saext.dll
unicows.dll
