Page is jumbled

Hi! Thanks in advance for your help! Why is it that my web page looks just
fine on almost all the computers used to view it, but every now and then we
find one which shows it as "jumbled" - things out of place? I have tried
fooling with the screen resolution, and I do use layout tables on my pages.
I'm sure that this is something elementary, but I haven't been doing this
that long and I just can't seem to find the problem. BTW, this has always
happened with IE as the browser. Don't know if it ever occurs with other
browsers because we don't have any at school to test it on. Any
suggestions??

most likely you are using absolute positioning and don't fully understand
how...but it'd be much easier to help if we could see the site..post the
URL.

There are some problems with the page, but the jumbled appearance is
one I could not re-produce.

You should remove all spaces from folder and filenames. Spaces may
break links in some browsers.
..wmf images do not work on the web - only Internet Explorer can
display them, other browsers will show a broken image symbol. .wmf
images should be converted to .gif images.
Finally, the space bar is not a layout tool. Do not use spaces to
layout objects in the page - that is what tables are for. Spaces will
appear differently in different browsers, and at different font-size
settings, affecting the page layout.

Wow, thanks! I even took a class, and they never told us any of that.
Really appreciate your input!

You might also try looking at your Windows settings for Font size - I had a
similar problem, and discovered my font size within Windows had been set to
Large. I set it back to normal and everything flowed nicely into the correct
postition.

Hope this helps
