I'm new to HTML, and despite reading through many books
and online resources, I can't seem to find a
straightforward answer to what I assume is a simple
question:
What's the recommended method to repeat content on web
pages?
For example, if I'd like the same navigation menu to
appear on the same place on several pages, how should I
set up the layout to accomplish this so that, if I need
to change the navigation menu one day, I need only to
change it in one place, one time (as opposed to making
the same change on every page).
Frames are an easy answer, but I understand that frames
are not recommended. Style sheets seem to control style -
but not content - across several web pages. Frontpage
offers something called "shared borders," but is this
unique to Frontpage or is it HTML-driven?
Any help is much appreciated. Thanks
