page number location

In a single section (all pages are included in the sectioon) I am trying to put page number at bottom-center on page 1 and to put page numbers at top-right on other pages. First I put all page numbers at top-right. Then I tried to change the location of the page number 2 typing in the footer of the page 2. Then the letter 2 apears at the bottom-center on the all pages. How I can fix the problem?

Hi, Airo. You need to insert a Word section break between page 1 and page 2. To do this, click on Insert | Break | Section break types: Next Page. Then click on View | Header and Footer. Turn off "same as previous" in section 2 (your page 2). With the section break inserted and "same as previous" turned off, anything you do to the section 1 header and footer will not affect the section 2 header and footer, and vice versa. So now you can delete the page number from the bottom center of page 2, and from the top right of page 1.

You have two options. Insert a section break between
page one and two, then disconnect from the previous; or
In File/Page setup Layout tab check the first page
different option.

Select the "Different first page" option on the Layout tab of Pages Setup.
This will give you a separate First Page Header and First Page Footer. Use
the Insert Page Number button on the Header and Footer toolbar to insert
your page number in the First Page Footer, then use Ctrl+E to center it.
Insert another page field in the Header and use Ctrl+R to right-align it.
