Page Setup, and Next Page

When i go into page setup the default margins are 1.57left and 1.55 right.
when i try to change them it tells me that increasing the right margin makes
the page too narrow and it won't let me change it. Actually anytime i try to
change anythng in page setup it gives me that.
Also, when i type a document, when i get to the end of the first page the
second page doesn't appear and neither does the text. I have to ctrl+enter to
get my next page then I can type. If i delete to the first page or make a
change to the first page the rest of the pages that follow disappear.
What is wrong and how can I fix this or do I need to just buy another
software disc?

Go to Format | Columns and change the number of columns to 1.

If this doesn't work then in Format/Columns click "One" in the Presets
section.

I know it sounds odd, since you already tried 1 column, but what you
really need is the option at the bottom, "Equal column width" turned
on. It's this option that allows Word to automatically adjust the
column with(s) when you modify the page margins.

If you are already using 1 column then the "Equal column width" option
is disabled. However when you select "One" in the presets section it
will turn on the disabled option.
