Page will not open from link but will when the browser refresh button is clicked

We have a link to an FTP site on our web page.

When a user clicks on the link, the web browser cannot find it.

However, if you click on the refresh button after it can't find it, it
is loaded immediately.

Please tell me what might be calling this.

A lot of browsers don't support linking to FTP sites. IE is the only one
that does, as far as I know, and I've actually never gotten it to work from
a link.

I forgot to mention that we are using IE.

Can you post the URL of the page that has the FTP link?

You mentioned that you got it to open the first time you clicked on
the link.

Would you be able to try it again for us?

It worked the first time for me as well but never worked after that.

I don't know if it somehow stored something somewhere or what.

Hi:
Using IE 6, I get a "Log On As" dialog box asking for a User name and
password.
