pages missing

I am creating a 46 page newsletter in Pub. I convert all pages to JPEGs and
then insert them to pub pages. I save and close the document. When I reopen
it to work on it again, I'll have several random pages missing...not always
the same ones.

Also, when I try to save it to a disc, it just creates a shortcut.

Help!

Thanks,
Vali

Why are you converting pages to .jpgs?

And you don't save a file to a disk. Save it to your hard drive and then
write the file to the disk with whatever CD-writing software you prefer to
use.

Because pieces of the page would disappear, and I have to reinsert them.
Also for the printer.
I do save to the hard drive...in fact while I'm working in publisher, I save
frequently.

Sounds like you have video driver issues. Check to see if there are new
drivers available for your video card/chip.

When you have the CD problem, are you writing that file to the CD or are you
literally trying to save the file to the CD?

The box that says these files are ready to write to the disc comes up and you
have the option to write to disc which I do and then it seems to only put a
shortcut in there.

Can you advise me where/how to check for new drivers? And I guess I need to
know what card/chip I have...where do I find that out? Properties somewhere?

thanks for help

Control panel, display folder, settings tab, advanced button. This screen will
tell you your adapter name. Click the troubleshoot tab, slide the acceleration
down a couple of notches, if this solves your issue then you need to update your
graphics driver.
