Parallel tasks in same project by same person

I have an overallocation problem. Scenario is:
Task A is 10 days (Allocated to person X)
Task B is 1 day task (fixed for a given day that occurs in parallel with
Task A - and is also allocated to person X)

Task A therefore needs to extend its duration by 1 day. However, what
actually happens is that on that particular day, person X is over allocated
(200%)

Is there an automatic way of handling this scenario. If not, how should it
be handled.

Tools, Resource Leveling handles this
Make sure the option Leveling cansplit tasks is ON.

Marko,

If you have "Level only within available slack" checked, you should try
leveling after un-checking it, as this might force the longer task to remain
in its pre-leveled time frame if not enough slack exists in your plan for it
to move without affecting the project's end date.
