partial access of one file

I am using MS project professional 2002. I have one master tracking that
needs to be updated further by the other people.

At present, the entire file is password protected and only one person can
update it. Can I give partial access(few columns only) to some people but
not all?
If the answere is no. Can I insert the updated file to the old file that
overwrites the old inforlation only. please advice the best solution thank

Majid,
Password protection with Project is either all or nothing, so the answer
is no.

Assuming your master is the normal type (i.e. master with inserted
subprojects) then one method for updating is to unlink and delete the
old subproject and rebuild the master with the new updated subproject.
