Password in Access

I have never used Access before & I have purchased a
program called "ezebase" that will help me with my buying
& selling on eBay.

I can go into Access & it doesn't ask for a password but
when I go in via this program it is asking for a
password.

I have checked with the developer, who has been helping
me with this problem, and he advised me that there is no
password required. It comes up as Administrator for the
Logon screen.

I have tried everything possible including repairing
Access but to no avail.

The last option that I think I have is to uninstall XP &
reinstall it again.

If I do that, will I lose all of my files in Excel, word,
outlook etc?

I'm not familiar with ezebase and can't help with that.

On losing your files if you reinstall XP, are you referring to Office XP or
Windows XP? If Office, the answer is "No", your data files will be safe. If
you are referring to Windows XP, it will depend on how you reinstall. If you
format the drive first then yes, everything on the drive will be gone.
You'll need to back up the data first.

When you start Access, it may not ask for a username/password at that point.
If you go to File, New to create a new mdb, does it then ask for
username/password?

If so then you are joined to a workgroup file that has a password set for
the Admin user.

Search your computer for *.mdw files.
Open Access and go to Tools, Security, Workgroup Administrator and see which
mdw you are joined to by default. Click on Join and try joining one of the
other workgroup files you located above (you want to join system.mdw that's
usually located in the windows system folder). If you have only one mdw,
try renaming it and then start Access, it should create a new mdw that
requires no password.
