password invalid after converting project file 2003 to 2007

I convert a 2003 project file into 2007 version, the second time I opened, it
pops up invalid password, the old password doesn't work anymore, any one can
help?

Hello miao,

There have been several postings to this newsgroup about problems with
password protected files in Project 2007. For the time being (until the
problem is repaired by MS), I strongly suggest not using passwords on
any project files that you will use in Project 2007. Unfortunately, I
do not know of a way to repair the project file you have converted. I
suggest reverting to a backup copy of the file and removing the password
in Project 2003 before converting to Project 2007.

Hello Miao,

I'm afraid there is no way to revert to Project 2003 if you have saved
the file as Project 2007. ( I assume you are unable to open the file
using Project 2007). You'll need to use a backup copy of the file.

Hi JulieS, I did not make a backup before convert it to 2007 format, I think
I have to wait for microsoft to fix. do you know when they will release the
hotfix?

Sorry to hear you didn't have a backup of the file. I'm afraid I don't
know when a fix for the password problem may be released. As a
suggestion, I would encourage you to have regular backups of all
important project files.
