password protect asp problem

I used asp to password protect 2 directories, with 2
different passwords, using
Microsoft Knowledge Base Article - 301464

The problem is that although each directory has a
different password, once anyone logs into 1 directory then
they have access to the other directory, even though they
haven't logged into the 2nd directory [with a different
password].

Any help would be much appreciated & thank you in advance!

Hi Rita,

That article describes protecting a single page and not a folder of pages.
Once the visitor has entered the correct UserID and Password then any page
that uses that same code will allow access also.

If you wish to protect an entire folder of pages then you'll need to use
permission at the folder level.

To protect different pages with different passwords use a different cookie
for each page.
